Shalom Club- Offsite Event
About this event

The Book of Esther in the Age of Rembrandt
is an exhibit now appearing at the North Carolina Museum of Art.
The exhibit showcases how the biblical story of heroic Queen Esther, depicted by Rembrandt and his contemporaries in art, expressed ideas of political and religious freedom. The Book of Esther, read on the annual Jewish holiday of Purim, recounts the struggle and triumph of the Jewish people in exile under the Persian empire.
Charting this history through objects and artworks, this exhibit provides an original perspective on one of the most studied periods of Dutch prosperity.
Members of the Shalom Club have the extraordinary opportunity to
view this exhibit with a guided tour led by two experienced docents.
