It’s been a while since we ventured out to popular Lake Johnson, a 500 acre park with paved greenway and natural surface trails.
We will meet at the WATERFRONT CENTER at 4601 Avent Ferry Road. The deck and veranda provide a covered area to enjoy the view of Lake Johnson and has public restrooms.
The main trail is a 3-mile PAVED Greenway that loops around the east side of the lake and is part of the Walnut Creek Greenway Trail. It follows the lake shore, through the woods and across the dam. While mostly flat, there are a few hills that are relatively steep. If the group prefers, we can opt for a shorter 2-mile UNPAVED trail along the west side of the lake.
Quick note on parking, the Waterfront Center parking (4601 Avent Ferry Rd) is convenient but not ample. This would be a good time to carpool!
