Functional Yoga is a slow, mindful yoga practice that uses intentional movement, breath, and awareness to create lasting change in the body. Through carefully guided yoga postures and transitions, students develop greater strength, mobility, balance, and connection while learning to move with greater ease and efficiency. This mat-based class includes getting up and down from the floor and is appropriate for those who can do so independently. Emphasis is placed on quality of movement, body awareness, and sustainable patterns that support everyday life.
Sara Walsh is a Registered Professional Nurse with over 15 years of experience in healthcare. She is a Functional Movement Specialist with extensive training in various modalities, all geared towards helping her clients move better, and feel better. She is a Level 3 Fascia Stretch Therapist, 1000 hour Functional Registered Yoga Instructor, and Reiki practitioner. Sara is always furthering her studies and incorporating new modalities into her offerings. She specializes in personalized sessions geared towards each person’s unique needs, creating a path towards more freedom and ease in the body.
